From touring with The Saturdays, the release of her catchy single ‘Joker‘ and a collaboration with Lil Wayne, life’s been a roller-coaster for Beth Sherburn this year and it keeps getting better. Her latest mashup seemed like the perfect excuse for a girly catch up with the talented songstress! Here’s what she had to say about music, fashion, inspiration and 2015 so far…
So, what have you been up to since we last spoke?
I’ve been busy in the studio writing and recording for my new EP… I think this is the best music that I’ve written, I can’t wait for you to hear the new material! I’ve also been writing for other artists, which is great!
What’s inspiring you at the moment?
My passion for music! I want to be a success which means working hard. I have so much fun in this industry and get to meet some amazing people, but my inspiration is to be the best artist /musician/performer that I can be.
What led you to do the mashup of Years & Years and Brandon Flowers?
I absolutely love ‘King’ by Years and Years. For a long time, I had that song on repeat, singing it in the car with my friends! With the Brandon Flowers track, I loved the catchy hooks in ‘Can’t deny my love’… I wanted to sing an acoustic, raw performance and put my own stamp on it, so thought it’d be a cool idea to do a mashup of the two tracks. I’ve had great feedback on it so far, which is fantastic!
In the video, you’re wearing a distinctive jumper, where can we buy it?
Thank you! I love to wear quirky, fun clothing! The Jumper is from ‘DI$COUNT UNIVER$E‘, their clothes are AMAZING!
What’s your current fashion must-have?
I’m loving my Topshop bomber jacket at the moment with my skinny jeans!
Where can we see you perform next?
I’ll be performing at a few festivals this year! Stay tuned to social media for information on that very soon. I can’t wait to perform the new material to my fans, it’s my favourite part of being an artist.
Do you have any exciting trips planned?
There are plans for me to go to LA later on in the year to work with some fantastic Producers!
Have you met Ryan Gosling yet?!
No, not yet… but hopefully one day!
What does the future hold for Beth Sherburn?
I’d love to travel all over the world with my career, continue working with amazing producers and be recognised for my music!
